Wisconsin Maritime Museum and WWII Submarine (Admission)
The Midwest's largest maritime museum offers guided tours of the nation's
most completely restored WWII submarine, USS COBIA, a gallery dedicated
to Wisconsin-built recreational boats, hands-on activites in the Children's Waterways Room and Little Lakefarer's Room, and a working triple-expansion marine steam. Visit the Museum’s Gift Store, Pier 75, for all your nautical purchases!

Rogers Street Fishing Village (Free / donation)
Nestled on the shore of the East Twin River, this museum village and heritage park is devoted to the history of Great Lakes commercial and charter fishing. Relive famous maritime disasters in the Coast Guard exhibit Shipwrecks! Memorial Day through October 10 am to 4 pm. By appointment year round.

Rahr West Art Museum (Free / donation)
The 1891 Rahr mansion features include a doll collection, doll house, and an ivory collection. View changing exhibitions as well as a permanent collection
of 20th Century and contemporary works
. Galleries feature changing exhibitions and a collection of American Art. This is the site of Sputnikfest, as a piece of Sputnik IV landed in front of the Mansion in 1962. Named one of USA Today's "10 Great Places to See Art in Smaller Cities," the museum features a World Class Art Collection. Open Daily and Admission is Free.

Pinecrest Historical Village (Admission, 5 and under Free)
Historical rural museum interprets village and farm life in late 19th century Manitowoc County. Special programs offered throughout the year include Christmas at Pinecrest, Children's Day, the Village Blacksmith, German Fest, Fall Harvest Festival, At Home in the Kitchen, and the 1871 Peshtigo Fire. Historic Washington House (Free)
Children of all ages will enjoy the antique toy collection and the Victorian doll house. Visit Ed Berner's Ice Cream Parlor, the home of the original Ice Cream Sundae and enjoy the red, white and blue Washington House Sundae as well

Capitol Civic Centre
Call the ticket office to arrange a backstage tour. See the stars' dressing rooms, "Green Room" and set construction, learn about the theater's history and see artifacts from the Vaudeville era. Call ahead to ensure personnel availability.

The Historic Farm Museum (Free)
Museum displays miscellaneous tools, antique tractors, vintage farm equipment and a display of a living room, kitchen/dining room and a bedroom of a farmhouse from the early 1900's.

RECREATION

Mariners Trail
This six mile paved trail starts at the north end of Manitowoc along the scenic lakeshore and extends to downtown Two Rivers. It's the longest continuous scenic view of Lake Michigan in the state of Wisconsin. It accommodates bicyclists, walkers, joggers and roller bladers.

Rawley Point Recreational Trail
This newly completed 5 mile hard-packed limestone base trail connect Two Rivers and Point Beach State Forest. Once you get to Point Beach check
out the Rawley Point Lighthouse!

Lincoln Park Zoo (Free / donations)
See prairie dogs, bobcats, cougars, bison and raptors as you walk through a natural setting designed to make you and the animals comfortable. Come early and witness young salmon or trout in a feeding frenzy at the holding pond. The Animal Care and Education Building features a rain forest habitat and exotic, tropical, and native fish. Manitowoc Parks
Twenty six city parks throughout Manitowoc provide a range of facilities from boat launching and fishing to team fields, tennis courts, trails, swimming pools, picnic areas, restrooms and beaches. Visit Manitowoc's Community built Playground at Henry Schuette Park or the NEW BMX/Skate Park Complex at Dewey St. Park. Some playground areas are supervised. Band concerts at Manitowoc's MetroStage in Washington Park Wednesday evenings during summer.

Manitowoc Family Aquatic Center (Admission)
Spend the day in the over 9,000 square foot facility, which includes 2 boy slides, a drop slide, a diving board, and a lazy river. Something for everyone with the zero depth entry, sand play area and a concession stand.

NATURE

Cherney Maribel Caves
This 8 acre forest is owned by Manitowoc County and was designated a State Natural Area in 1967. Located on the West Twin River, Cherney Maribel Caves contains a 50-foot limestone bluff, a rare occurrence within the glaciated region of Wisconsin. You will also find many varieties of birds, ferns and trees as well as some endangered species. Public tours by appointment and on weekends when a volunteer is available, April 1-October 31. 6 am-8 pm

Located within Cherney Maribel Caves County Park, Manitowoc County. From the junction of I-43 and State Highway 147 one mile east of Maribel, go east on 147 0.3 mile, then north on County Highway R 0.6 mile to the entrance of Cherney Maribel Caves County Park, proceed 0.25 mile to a parking area, and hike east into the natural area.

Collins Marsh Wildlife Area
Collins Marsh Nature Center is open for public visitation by appointment and is a 4,000+ acre state wildlife area that offers excellent wetland habitat. Our facilities include a nature center, screened in shelter, 110 foot tower, as well as a grill and bonfire pit. Birders, Hunters, Photographers, Kayakers, Hikers and Bikers will all find places to explore. Find it approximately 12 miles west of Manitowoc and 2 miles south of Reedsville. You can access the property on the west from CTH W, from the south on CTH JJ, on the east by Quarry, Einberger, and Collins Marsh Road, and on the north by Hilltop Road. The property is comprised mostly of marsh, wetlands, grasslands and bottomland hardwood forest.

Manitowoc Lakeshore and Waterfront
During the summer, watch SS Badger back into her carferry dock or sailboats and yachts glide into and out of our beautiful harbor. Wade in Lake Michigan, stroll along the beach, or follow the paved walkway to the lighthouse on the breakwater. You'll pass a wildlife sanctuary with nesting sites for Great Lakes waterfowl along the way. Accessible to the Mariners Trail.




Wetlands, Marshes and Wildlife Areas
Collins Marsh, Vanderbloomen Bog, Ledgeview Nature Center and Maribel Caves. Interpretive hikes available.



Woodland Dunes Nature Center (Free)
Explore diverse ecosystems in an oasis of wooded swales and ridges, meadows, marshland, swamps and sandy fields. Wildflower sanctuary and bird-banding station. Seven nature trails open year 'round. Interpretive hikes and educational events have fees. 920-793-4007



West of the Lake Gardens (Free)
Rose Garden, Japanese Garden, Sunken Garden and a Formal Garden on six acres along Lake Michigan's shore. Young or seasoned gardeners will enjoy this scenic display. Great photo opportunities. You can access the MarinersTrail from the Gardens. (Seasonal, 10 am - 4 pm) 920-684-8506
