Bread Baking Bee

Wood heated bake oven from the 1850s will be making wood fired pizzas for volunteers and members, public nominal charge. Grain grinding demos, antique tool displays relating to harvesting, local genealogy information. Sourdough bread available for donation. Bread making workshop a mile away. Participants will learn about the fermentation of sourdough, function of ingredients, learn kneading techniques, and make the finishing loaves ready to rise and bake. Workshop held at National Historic Site – The Lutze Housebarn. Registration limited to 15 participants. See related event: Bread Baking Bee a mile away.
