Acoustic Fest (22nd Year!)
July 15, 2017 @ 11:00 amFree
A full day of some of the best acoustic music to be found in Wisconsin and beyond is lined up for Saturday, July 15, at Washington Park, from 11 am to 9 pm.
When their plane lands in Chicago on Saturday, July 15, after a Friday Memphis gig, Acoustic Fest headliner Phoebe Hunt (www.phoebehuntmusic.com ) will be whisked directly to the festival grounds at Washington Park in downtown Manitowoc to command the stage at 7 pm. Recently named one of the Top Ten Country Stars to Watch by Rolling Stone and rolling out her newest release “Shanti’s Shadow” this month, this powerhouse and her talented entourage of five will round out a day of top local, regional and national acoustic music sure to please all generations.
With a twang in her voice and her energetic fiddling Hunt is a consummate crowd pleaser and will bring the audience to its feet for some dancing.
Another headliner Lari White (www.lariwhite.com) will entertain the crowd at 6 pm with her rich tapestry of music that defies categorization. As a recording artist, her music has earned three Grammys (The Apostle Soundtrack and Amazing Grace 1 and 2: A Country Tribute), and RIAA Gold (Wishes/RCA Records). Her self-produced Green Eyed Soul was a London Times’ pick.
Acoustic Fest, celebrating its 22nd year of entertaining the greater Manitowoc community with high quality acoustic talent, will not disappoint in 2017. Pick the times that suit your tastes, from 11 am to 9 pm and enjoy the food, refreshments and art in Washington Park. Visit the web site (www.acousticfest.com) for more information on each musician and group.

Acoustic Fest was established to preserve and promote acoustic music. It is a free concert designed to offer members of the community and visitors to the Lakeshore area, a wholesome, family oriented afternoon of entertainment. Acoustic Fest achieves this by showcasing diverse and accomplished acoustic musicians, including local artists. All proceeds in excess of organizational expenses are dispersed in the form of scholarships and donations made to area organizations or projects which benefit the community.
